James River, ranked fifth in the DigitalSports Top 10, defeated undefeated and No. 1 ranked Cosby 3-1 in Tuesday night’s game.
The Rapids jumped out to an early lead in the first half where they were able to score two goals.
The second goal came off of a penalty kick converted by midfielder Aubrie Ewell.
Sophomore midfielder Lindsey Carns scored a goal in the first half to shorten James River’s lead as the game went into halftime 2-1.
In the second half, both sides battled hard but it would be James River who came out on top as they were able to deliver the final blow to the Titans.
Erin Liberatore scored the third and final goal of the match, winning the game for the Rapids and handing Cosby its first loss of the season.
