Our all-DigitalSports girls soccer team is loaded, there is no other way to say it.
The DigitalSports staff will have a Phil Jackson-type winning percentage with this group.
Most soccer teams start defensively, and wow, it doesn’t get any better than Lindsey Rowe in goal, our player of the year. The Mills Godwin star won’t have to say much to backs Melissa Davis (Hermitage) and ridiculous freshman Chaney LaReau (Deep Run).
That should free up our midfielders and forwards to concentrate on scoring the ball.
Setting things up in the middle is Kristin Lescalleet (Atlee), the Richmond-bound player, Virginia Tech-bound Anne Lumpkin (Mills Godwin) and terrific athlete Becca Wann (Cosby).
Up top is Central Region POY Erin Liberatore (James River), an 100-goal scorer in Kimmy Cummings (Lee-Davis), Annemarie Cole (Godwin), Lindsey Booth (Atlee) and Thomas Dale’s Loren Favale.
