Some of the top boys and girls volleyball teams from Virginia competed in the 2008 Volleyball Showcase on Friday and Saturday at the Greater Richmond Convention Center.
The Deep Run boys denied Cosby of back-to-back titles by beating the Titans 25-17, 25-22, 25-18 in the championship.
L.C. Bird took third place with a 25-18, 25-23, 9-25, 25-23 victory over Frank Cox.
On the girls side the Central Region’s best finish also came from Deep Run. The Wildcats defeated Hanover in an intense five games 25-15, 23-25, 25-23, 21-25, 15-10 to claim fifth place in the Red Division. Floyd Kellam won the girls crown.
