Highland Springs wasn’t seen as one the biggest threats on the northside of the James River this season.
They are now. The Springers punctuated a regular-season crown with a tournament one, winning the Capital District in a thrilling five-game match over Atlee Wednesday night at Lee-Davis.
The powerful hitting Quentin Moore led Highland Springs with 22 killls, nine digs and four blocks before accepting the district player of the year trophy.
He received many nifty feeds from Addan Jones, the Springers’ terrific setter who delivered 43 assists. Adam Crigger added 12 digs, 11 kills and four blocks on the other side of Moore, as Highland Springs has given Atlee two of its three losses this season.
