It’s Stephen Lewis with you from the Henrico Holiday Hoops Tournament, presented by DigitalSports and Fox Richmond.
Henrico and Clover Hill are kicking off the tourney. The Warriors got off to a rough start but are beating Clover Hill 20-9 at the end of the first period.
The Warriors are burning up from the 3-point line, hitting four bombs already. Jestin Lewis and Sequan Carter have five points each so far.

SECOND QUARTER
It’s 25-14 now after a long 3-pointer by Kuimel Queen, off the bench for Clover Hill. Henrico just turned it over.
Then they forced the Cavs to give it up, Jestin Lewis with his seventh point off the pressure. 27-14 Henrico.
Brandon Williams with a nifty lay-up for Clover Hill, forces a Henrico coach Vance Harmon timeout. He didn’t like the lane being open. 28-16, until Lewis dives inside for two more.
Henrico up 30-16 with 3:35 left in the half.
Now 1:24 to go in the first half of this first-round game. We’re in a timeout, Henrico up 32-16. Billy Davis enters for Henrico, and gets a quick assist to Evan Thorpe.
Josh Keeder of the state champion boys volleyball team gets two to end the half. Henrico ahead 34-18 with 16 minutes to go.

For Henrico, Kris Walden has three 3-pointers and 12 points to pace Henrico. Lewis has nine points for the Warriors.
THIRD QUARTER
Williams and Tim Thaniel score six points to force a Henrico TO. 34-24 Warriors as the Cavs look to cut it to double digits. 6:24 left in the third.
Williams adds two FTs, 8-point lead. Walden answers, his 14th point. Lewis with a steal, Carter for two more. Henrico 38-26.
Another CH turnover, full-court pressure is hurting them. Walden for another jumper, Henrico with another steal, Carter for two more.
That quickly, it is 42-26 Henrico. Time out Clover Hill coach Frank Short with 4:25 to go in the third.
Football standout Deonte Strother, Keeder and Williams for Clover Hill sandwich a Carter jumper.
44-32 Henrico. Williams has eight points this quarter alone, 12 for the contest.
Keeder for a deep two, Strother for another easy one off a Williams feed. Clover Hill only down eight points with Thaniel going to the line, 23.2 left.
Thaniel hits both, Cavs down six. Michael Johnson gets fouled at the buzzer, hits his first free throw and drains the second. Big points for Henrico, up 8, 46-38. Eight minutes to go.
FOURTH QUARTER
Lewis and Thaniel trade nifty buckets, it’s 48-40 Henrico. Lewis for trey, 51-40 Henrico.
Williams has a chance at an old-fashioned three-point play. He’s playing a wonderful contest. He misses, 51-42 Hen.
Strother with a nice head fake and shot and Clover Hill is down seven with 4:55 left.
Carter with a stick back off the weak side. Henrico gets the turnover, Carter for two more. He’s been huge off the bench with 15 points.
Brandon Christian gets his first two off a feed from freshman Timmy Jones on an out-of-bounds play. Great patience from Jones, he was near the 5-second limit.
57-44 Henrico, 3:47 to go. Up next is J.R. Tucker and Chesterfield Community. The winner will play the winner of this game at 5:30 Tuesday.
59-46 Henrico, under three minutes to go on two Lewis FTs.
Strother drops in another two, eight points off the pine for him. 59-48 Henrico, timeout Clover Hill with 1:56 to go.
Clover Hill’s turning up the pressure and Williams gets two off of a TO. 59-50 Henrico with Walden going to the line, one-and-one. He misses.
CH doesn’t take advantage, Henrico knocks down three more at the line, 62-50 with 1:12 to go.
Strother knocks in two more, his 10th point. 63-52 Henrico, 45 to go. It’s final, 65-52 Henrico. The Warriors move on to the semifinals.
